Carmen Electra was born on April 20th, 1972, in White Oak, Ohio, near Cincinnati. Her original 
name was Tara Leigh Patrick, and she was born of Irish, German, and Cherokee descent.
At age 5 she won her first dance contest, and following that she participated in over 100 tap and ballet contests. At age 9, she enrolled at the School for Creativity and Performing Arts.
In 1987, she moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota, with her sisters, and worked as a model for Target corporation. The next year, in 1988, Carmen enrolled at Princeton High School in the Cincinnati suburbs, and graduated in 1990.
After high school, in 1991, Carmen moved to Los Angeles, California. She changed her name to Carmen Electra and collaborated with musician "Prince" to develop a music career, signing a contract with Prince's record company, Paisley Park Records.
In 1995, she began various TV program appearances, and in 1996, was featured in Playboy magazine. This exposure in Playboy led to other television roles on shows such as "Baywatch"(1997-1998) and MTV's "Singled Out"(1997).
Dated B-Real of "Cypress Hill" (1994-1998) who she worked with on a second musical album.
Married basketball star Dennis Rodman from 1998-1999.
Married musician dave Navarro in 2003, who has served as lead guitarist for the bands "Red Hot Chili Peppers" and "Jane's Addiction".
Carmen has starred or appeared in over 200 movies and television programs as of 2005.
